  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

For the Sauce:

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth (or seafood broth)
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for balance)
  • ¼ cup fresh basil or parsley, chopped

For the Pasta:

  • 12 oz pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or penne)
  • 1 tablespoon salt (for boiling water)

Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Shrimp

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook shrimp for 2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

Step 3: Make the Creamy Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, add garlic, red pepper flakes, and sun-dried tomatoes. Sauté for 1 minute.
  2. Pour in chicken broth and scrape up any bits from the pan.
  3. Stir in heavy cream, parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 3-4 minutes, until slightly thickened.
  4. Add lemon juice and stir well.

Step 4: Combine Everything

  1. Return shrimp and cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the creamy sauce.
  2. Simmer for 2 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.

Step 5: Garnish & Serve

  1. Sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley.
  2. Serve warm with extra parmesan and garlic bread on the side!

Notes

  • Want more heat? Add extra red pepper flakes.
  • Lighter version? Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • No shrimp? Swap for chicken, salmon, or scallops.
