Crispy Air Fryer Cod is a light and healthy way to enjoy fish with a crunchy coating and tender, flaky interior. Quick to make and perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cod fillets (46 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dredge each cod fillet in flour, then dip in egg, and coat with the seasoned panko mixture.
  5. Spray both sides of the breaded cod with cooking spray.
  6. Place fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).
  7. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Serve with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure crispiness.
  • Panko breadcrumbs provide extra crunch; regular breadcrumbs can be used in a pinch.
  • Great served with tartar sauce, coleslaw, or over a salad.
