The Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwich combines golden, crunchy chicken with crisp romaine, creamy Caesar dressing, and shaved Parmesan, all served on a toasted bun for the perfect handheld Caesar salad experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
  • 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
  • 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
  • 2 brioche or sandwich buns
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for toasting buns)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts between two sheets of plastic wrap and pound to even thickness. Cut into sandwich-sized pieces if large.
  2. Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours).
  3. In a shallow bowl, mix flour, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, dredge in flour mixture, pressing to coat.
  5. Heat 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 4–5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Toast buns in a skillet with butter if desired.
  7. Spread Caesar dressing on the bottom bun, layer with romaine, crispy chicken, more dressing, and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Top with the other bun half and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use an air fryer for a lighter version of the crispy chicken.
  • Add crispy bacon for extra flavor and texture.
  • Use a sturdy bun like ciabatta if you prefer a chewier sandwich.
