Crockpot Honey Garlic Chicken is a flavorful, tender, and juicy slow-cooked dish featuring chicken simmered in a savory-sweet honey garlic sauce—perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken in the bottom of the crockpot.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, hoisin sauce (if using), garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Remove chicken and shred or slice as desired.
  6. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry.
  7. Stir the slurry into the sauce in the crockpot. Turn to high and cook for another 10–15 minutes, until sauce thickens.
  8. Return the chicken to the crockpot and toss with the thickened sauce.
  9. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • Serve over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
