Ingredients

Scale

For the Cookies:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp red food coloring (gel preferred)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 810 Oreo cookies, roughly crushed

Optional Garnishes:

  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips or drizzle
  • Extra Oreo crumbs for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat and Prepare:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.

2. Make the Dough:

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring, mixing until fully combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies, reserving a few pieces for topping if desired.

3. Scoop and Bake:

  1. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. If desired, press additional Oreo pieces or white chocolate chips onto the tops of the cookies for extra visual appeal.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly soft.

4. Cool and Serve:

  1. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Optionally, drizzle cooled cookies with melted white chocolate for added sweetness and decoration.

Notes

  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • For a softer texture, do not overbake—cookies will continue to set as they cool.
  • Try using flavored Oreos (e.g., Double Stuf, Chocolate Creme) for a fun twist!
