Dirt Cake is a fun and creamy no-bake dessert made with layers of crushed chocolate cookies and a rich pudding-cream cheese filling, topped with cookie ‘dirt’ and gummy worms for a playful finish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15.35-ounce) package chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos)
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 (3.9-ounce) packages instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 (12-ounce) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • Gummy worms, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies in a food processor or by placing them in a sealed plastic bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes, until thickened.
  4. Fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture, then fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
  5. In a 9×13-inch dish or individual cups, layer half of the crushed cookies on the bottom.
  6. Spoon the pudding mixture over the cookie layer and spread evenly.
  7. Top with the remaining crushed cookies to resemble dirt.
  8. Decorate with gummy worms if desired. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving.
