Dirt Pie is a fun, no‑bake layered dessert featuring crushed chocolate cookies, rich pudding, whipped cream, and gummy worms—perfect for a playful treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (about 9 oz) Oreo cookies (or chocolate sandwich cookies), crushed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups vanilla pudding (instant or homemade)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped to stiff peaks
  • Gummy worms, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine crushed Oreo cookies and melted butter; press about 2/3 of the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13″ baking dish to form the “dirt” crust.
  2. In another bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Fold in vanilla pudding until fully combined.
  4. Gently fold in whipped cream until light and fluffy.
  5. Spread the pudding‑cream mixture evenly over the cookie crust.
  6. Sprinkle remaining crushed cookies on top to resemble dirt.
  7. Decorate with gummy worms poking out of the top layer.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to set.

Notes

  • For deeper ‘dirt’, use a taller dish or double the crust layer.
  • Mix pudding with whipped cream for a lighter, mousse‑like texture.
  • Substitute chocolate pudding for a richer taste.
  • Let chill time be at least 2 hours, overnight is even better.
  • Great for Halloween or kids’ parties—add candy insects, if desired.
