Ingredients
Scale
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 cup whole milk
1 cup Dr. Pepper (not diet)
¾ cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla until sugar is mostly dissolved.
Slowly stir in the Dr. Pepper (it may fizz; stir gently to avoid overflow).
Chill mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until thoroughly cold.
Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20–30 minutes).
Transfer to a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Scoop and serve, optionally topped with maraschino cherries or a drizzle of soda syrup.
Notes
Use original Dr. Pepper for the best flavor; diet versions may not freeze well.
For a stronger soda flavor, reduce 2 cups of Dr. Pepper to 1 cup by simmering and cooling before adding.
No-churn option: Whip the cream to stiff peaks, fold in sweetened condensed milk, then gently mix in soda and freeze.
Flavor pairs well with cherry, vanilla, or chocolate syrups.
