This Easy Herbal Coffee is a nourishing, caffeine-free alternative to your daily brew. Made with roasted dandelion root and chicory, it delivers a rich, roasted flavor similar to traditional coffee—but with added health benefits and no jitters. Perfect for mornings or cozy afternoon sips.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp roasted dandelion root

  • 1 tsp roasted chicory root

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • 1/2 tsp cacao nibs or unsweetened cocoa powder (optional)

  • 1 1/2 cups water

  • Milk or plant-based milk, to taste

  • Honey, maple syrup, or stevia, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the dandelion root, chicory root, and any optional spices or cacao.

  2. Add water and bring to a gentle simmer.

  3. Simmer for 10–15 minutes to extract the flavor.

  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.

  5. Pour into a mug and add milk and sweetener as desired.

  6. Stir and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a stronger brew, steep the herbs longer or increase the quantities.
