  • 4 oz goat cheese, softened
  • ½ cup fig jam or fig preserves
  • ¼ cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or ½ teaspoon dried)
  • 1 tablespoon honey, plus more for drizzling
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

For Garnish:

  • Extra honey, for drizzling
  • Fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Puff Pastry

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a 10×12-inch rectangle.

Step 2: Add the Filling

  1. Spread the goat cheese evenly over the puff pastry.
  2. Spoon and spread fig jam on top of the goat cheese.

Step 3: Roll and Slice

  1. Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the puff pastry into a log.
  2. Using a sharp knife, slice the roll into ½-inch pinwheels.

  1. Place pinwheels cut side up on the prepared baking sheet.
