These Football Shaped Pepperoni bites are a fun and easy appetizer perfect for game day! Made with pizza dough, mozzarella, and pepperoni, they’re shaped like mini footballs and baked to golden perfection. Great for dipping in marinara sauce and guaranteed to score big with your crowd.
1 can refrigerated pizza dough (about 13.8 oz)
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
20–25 slices pepperoni
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce (for dipping)
Cooking spray or olive oil (for greasing)
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface and cut out football shapes using a cookie cutter or a knife.
Place a few pieces of pepperoni and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese on half of the football shapes.
Cover each with a second dough football cutout and press edges together to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with Italian seasoning and optional Parmesan.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Let cool slightly, then serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
Use string cheese strips to add laces on top before baking for extra football flair.
These can be made ahead and reheated in the oven or air fryer.
Try adding other fillings like sausage, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
