Ingredients

Scale

For the Sliders:

  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 lb deli-sliced roast beef
  • 12 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter (for sautéing onions, optional)

For the Buttery Topping:

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried parsley

For the Au Jus:

  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

Prepare the Sliders:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms intact. Place the bottom halves of the buns in the prepared baking dish.

Assemble the Sliders:

  1. Layer the roast beef evenly over the buns. If using onions, sauté them in butter until soft and golden, then layer them over the roast beef.
  2. Add a slice of provolone cheese to each bun. Place the tops of the buns over the cheese.

Prepare the Topping:

  1. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, sesame seeds (if using), and parsley. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the buns.

Bake the Sliders:

  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5–7 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Prepare the Au Jus:

  1. While the sliders are baking, combine the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes. Keep warm.

Serve:

  1. Serve the sliders warm with the au jus on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Make-ahead option: Assemble the sliders up to 4 hours in advance, cover, and refrigerate. Brush with the butter topping and bake just before serving.
  • Add heat: Include a layer of horseradish sauce or spicy mustard for a kick.
  • Leftovers: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven to maintain crispness.
