French Dressing is a tangy, sweet, and creamy salad dressing made with ketchup, vinegar, and seasonings. It’s perfect for drizzling over greens or using as a dip.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated onion
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard for extra tang

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together ketchup, vinegar, sugar, grated onion, paprika, salt, pepper, and Dijon mustard if using.
  2. Slowly drizzle in the vegetable oil while whisking continuously until the dressing is emulsified and smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  4. Transfer to a jar or container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let flavors meld.

Notes

  • Shake or stir well before each use as the dressing may separate.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Great on salads, burgers, or as a dip for veggies and fries.
