French’s Green Bean Casserole

This traditional Green Bean Casserole is made with just a handful of pantry staples—cream of mushroom soup, milk, green beans, and French’s® Crispy Fried Onions. It’s warm, creamy, and topped with a golden crunch that keeps everyone coming back for seconds.

  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup

  • ¾ cup milk

  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 4 cups cooked cut green beans (fresh, frozen, or canned)

  • 1⅓ cups French’s® Crispy Fried Onions, divided

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Mix Ingredients:
    In a 1½-quart casserole dish, stir together the mushroom soup, milk, and pepper.
    Add green beans and ⅔ cup of the crispy fried onions. Stir to combine.

  • Bake First Layer:
    Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.

  • Add Topping:
    Stir the casserole, then sprinkle the remaining ⅔ cup crispy fried onions evenly over the top.

 

  • Final Bake:
    Return to the oven and bake for 5 more minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.

Notes

  • Fresh Green Beans: Blanch them for 5 minutes before using to ensure they’re tender.

  • Make Ahead: Assemble everything except the topping up to a day in advance. Cover and refrigerate, then top and bake when ready.

 

  • Add a Twist: Stir in ¼ tsp soy sauce or top with shredded cheddar for extra flavor.
