Instructions

Step 1: Cook the Sausage

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. Add onion and cook for 2 minutes, until softened.
  3. Stir in garlic, cabbage, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized.

Step 3: Combine & Finish

  1. Return the sausage to the skillet and mix well.
  2. Stir in apple cider vinegar for extra flavor (optional).
  3. Cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot. Pair with rice, mashed potatoes, or cornbread for a complete meal!

Notes

  • Make It Low-Carb/Keto: Use a sugar-free sausage and omit the vinegar.
  • Spicy Option: Add extra red pepper flakes or use spicy andouille sausage.
  • Extra Flavor: Try adding ½ tsp Cajun seasoning for a Southern twist.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat.
