A creamy and refreshing homemade frozen yogurt made with simple ingredients for a healthier frozen treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups plain Greek yogurt (full-fat or low-fat)
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen fruit (optional, for flavor)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
  2. If adding fruit, puree it and fold into the yogurt mixture.
  3. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes.
  4. Transfer the frozen yogurt to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours for a firmer texture.
  5. When ready to serve, let the frozen yogurt sit at room temperature for a few minutes to soften slightly. Scoop and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use full-fat yogurt for a creamier texture.
  • Add mix-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or swirl in fruit preserves after churning.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, freeze the mixture in a shallow dish and stir every 30 minutes until frozen and creamy.
