  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Whisk in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips or chunks if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs.
