Garlic Bread is a classic side dish featuring crusty bread spread with a savory blend of butter, garlic, and herbs, then toasted to golden perfection. It’s a perfect complement to pasta, soups, or salads.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf French bread or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tablespoon dried)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the loaf in half lengthwise.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and salt.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
  5. If using, sprinkle grated Parmesan on top.
  6. Place bread halves on a baking sheet, butter side up.
  7. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the bread is warm and edges are lightly golden.
  8. For a crispier top, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes, watching closely.
  9. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use roasted garlic for a milder, sweeter flavor.
  • Can be made ahead and frozen—just wrap tightly and reheat in the oven.
  • Try adding mozzarella cheese for a cheesy garlic bread variation.
