Tender, juicy steak bites seared to perfection and coated in a rich, flavorful garlic butter sauce. This simple and quick recipe makes a delicious appetizer or main dish in just a few minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or fresh thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt (to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak cubes in a single layer, ensuring they’re not crowded in the pan. Sear the steak for 2-3 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness (medium-rare, medium, etc.).
  2. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium, and add butter. Once the butter is melted, add the minced garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  3. Cook the garlic for about 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
  4. Return the steak bites to the skillet, toss them in the garlic butter sauce, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to coat the steak in the sauce.
  5. Remove from heat, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges for an extra burst of freshness, if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can marinate the steak in a little olive oil, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
  • For a crispy finish, you can broil the steak bites for 1-2 minutes after cooking in the skillet.
  • Serve these steak bites over mashed potatoes, rice, or with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
