Ingredients

Scale

For the Noodles & Steak:

  • 8 oz noodles (lo mein, ramen, or fettuccine)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (avocado or sesame)
  • 8 oz flank steak, thinly sliced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce

For the Garlic Butter Sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional, for extra umami)
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles:
    • Boil noodles according to package instructions. Drain and toss with 1 teaspoon oil to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. Sear the Steak:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add the sliced steak, season with salt, pepper, and soy sauce, and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove from pan and set aside.
  3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
    • In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sautéing for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    • Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 1 minute.
  4. Toss Everything Together:
    • Add the cooked noodles and steak back to the pan. Toss to coat everything in the garlic butter sauce.
    • Squeeze in fresh lime juice and give it a final stir.
  5. Serve & Garnish:
    • Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Noodle Choice: Lo mein, ramen, or fettuccine all work great!
  • Protein Swap: Try shrimp, chicken, or tofu instead of steak.
  • Extra Heat: Add more red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha.
  • Make it Creamy: Stir in a splash of heavy cream or coconut milk at the end.
