Ingredients

Scale

For the pork chops:

  • 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup (60 g) breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the garlic butter sauce:

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the breading:
    • In a shallow bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
    • Place the beaten eggs in a separate shallow bowl.
  2. Coat the pork chops:
    • Dip each pork chop into the beaten eggs, letting any excess drip off. Then coat it thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even coating.
  3. Cook the pork chops:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the pork chops and cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  4. Make the garlic butter sauce:
    • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant. If desired, stir in red pepper flakes for a slight kick.
  5. Combine and serve:
    • Return the pork chops to the skillet, spoon the garlic butter sauce over them, and let them simmer for 1-2 minutes to absorb the flavors.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Baking option: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). After breading the pork chops, place them on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or skillet for best results.
  • Side suggestions: Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a fresh green salad.
