Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 1/4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the rice and cook for another 1–2 minutes to toast slightly.
  4. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18–20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  6. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and heavy cream until well combined.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a dash of Italian seasoning or a pinch of red pepper flakes.
  • Use vegetable broth to make it vegetarian.
  • Brown rice can be used but will require longer cooking time and more liquid.
