This Glazed Easter Ham is the perfect centerpiece for your holiday table. The ham is baked to perfection and coated with a sweet and tangy glaze made with brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, and warm spices. The caramelized glaze adds a deliciously sticky and flavorful crust to the tender, juicy ham.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Ham:

  • 1 (8-10 pound) bone-in spiral-cut ham

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar or orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
    • Place the ham in a large roasting pan, cut side down. Cover the pan with aluminum foil.
  2. Bake the Ham:

    • Bake the ham for about 10-12 minutes per pound. For an 8-pound ham, this will take about 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Glaze:

    • While the ham bakes, combine brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and black pepper in a saucepan.
    • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes until the glaze thickens slightly.
  4. Glaze the Ham:

    • After the initial baking time, remove the ham from the oven and increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C).
    • Brush half of the glaze over the ham, ensuring it gets between the slices.
    • Return the ham to the oven, uncovered, and bake for 15 minutes.
    • Brush the remaining glaze over the ham and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the glaze is caramelized and bubbly.
  5. Rest and Serve:

    • Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
    • Serve warm, drizzled with any extra glaze from the pan.

Notes

  • Ham Selection: A spiral-cut ham is ideal as it allows the glaze to penetrate between the slices.
  • Storage: Store leftover ham in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • Leftover Tip: Use leftover ham in sandwiches, soups, or casseroles.
