Golden Crusty Garlic Bread is a classic side dish made with crusty bread slathered in a buttery garlic and herb mixture, then baked to golden perfection. It’s crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the bread in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on a baking sheet.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over both halves of the bread.
  5. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if using.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the bread is golden and crisp on the edges.
  7. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from oven, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use roasted garlic for a milder, sweeter flavor.
  • You can make the garlic butter ahead of time and refrigerate it until ready to use.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven to maintain crispiness.
