Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 cups old-fashioned oats
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix melted butter, oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish.
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips. Stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and nuts if using.
Pour the chocolate mixture over the oat crust and spread evenly.
Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the top of the chocolate layer.
Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.
