Ingredients
Scale
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 large eggs
1/2 cup brewed strong coffee, cooled
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup caramel sauce (plus more for drizzling)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In another bowl, mix melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in the vanilla extract, sour cream, and coffee until smooth.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, then drizzle half of the caramel sauce over it. Swirl lightly with a knife.
Repeat with the remaining batter and caramel sauce.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Drizzle with extra caramel sauce before serving.
Notes
You can use store-bought or homemade caramel sauce.
For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of regular brewed coffee.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
