These Gourmet Hot Dogs are anything but basic. Whether you’re craving something spicy, savory, or fresh, these three flavor-packed variations are guaranteed to wow. Perfect for cookouts, game days, or just leveling up your weeknight dinner!

Base:

  • 6 all-beef hot dogs (or your favorite variety)

  • 6 brioche or bakery-style hot dog buns

  • Butter or oil, for toasting buns


1. Bacon Avocado Ranch Dog

Toppings:

  • 2 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

  • 1/2 avocado, sliced

  • 2 tbsp ranch dressing

  • Chopped chives or green onion (optional)


2. Spicy Street Dog

Toppings:

  • 1/4 cup grilled or sautéed onions and jalapeños

  • Crumbled queso fresco or cotija

  • 1 tbsp chipotle mayo or sriracha

  • Fresh cilantro leaves


3. Caprese Dog

Toppings:

  • Sliced cherry tomatoes

  • Fresh mozzarella slices or pearls

  • Fresh basil leaves

  • Balsamic glaze drizzle

  • Olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Grill or cook hot dogs:
    Grill hot dogs over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until heated through and slightly charred, or cook according to your preferred method.

  2. Toast buns:
    Lightly butter the inside of each bun and toast on the grill or in a skillet until golden and crisp.

  3. Assemble:
    Place a hot dog in each bun and top with one of the gourmet combinations above.

  4. Serve:
    Serve immediately with kettle chips, fries, or a fresh salad.
