Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup grape soda
  • 1/2 tsp grape extract or flavoring (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Frosting:
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp grape soda
  • 1/4 tsp grape extract (optional)
  • Purple food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with 24 liners.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the white cake mix, eggs, oil, grape soda, and grape extract (if using) until smooth.
  3. Divide the batter evenly among cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  4. Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  5. To make the frosting, beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing well.
  6. Add grape soda one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached. Mix in grape extract and food coloring if using.
  7. Frost cooled cupcakes and decorate as desired.

Notes

  • Use diet grape soda for a lower-sugar version.
  • Chill frosting briefly before piping if it becomes too soft.
  • Top with purple sprinkles or grape candy for a festive touch.
  • Store cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
