These Green Tea Truffles are rich, creamy, and infused with matcha green tea powder, giving them a subtle earthy flavor that pairs beautifully with sweet white chocolate. They’re perfect for tea lovers and make a unique, elegant dessert or edible gift!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz white chocolate, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1½ teaspoons matcha green tea powder
  • 1 teaspoon unsalted butter (for extra creaminess)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ cup matcha powder, cocoa powder, or powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Heat the Cream: In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the heavy cream until it’s hot but not boiling.
  2. Dissolve the Matcha: Whisk in the matcha powder until smooth. Remove from heat.
  3. Melt the Chocolate: Place the chopped white chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Pour the warm matcha cream over the chocolate and let sit for 1-2 minutes. Stir gently until melted and smooth.
  4. Add Butter & Vanilla: Stir in butter, vanilla extract (if using), and salt until fully incorporated.
  5. Chill the Ganache: Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
  6. Shape the Truffles: Use a spoon or small cookie scoop to form 1-inch balls. Roll them between your hands to smooth them.
  7. Coat the Truffles: Roll in matcha powder, cocoa powder, or powdered sugar for a beautiful finish.
  8. Chill & Serve: Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For a smoother coating, dust lightly with powdered sugar before rolling in matcha.
  • Prefer a sweeter coating? Try rolling in white chocolate shavings instead of matcha.

  • Storage: Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 2 months.
