These wings are easy to prepare and perfect for cookouts, game day, or a flavorful weeknight dinner. With their bright citrus punch and peppery kick, they’re always a crowd favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken wings (drumettes and flats)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

  • Zest of 1 lemon

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375–400°F).

  2. Prep the wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl.

  3. Season: Drizzle with olive oil and toss with salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, and lemon zest. Mix until evenly coated.

  4. Grill the wings: Place the wings on the grill in a single layer. Grill for 20–25 minutes, turning every 5–7 minutes, until cooked through and the skin is crispy.

  5. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, lemon juice, and lemon pepper seasoning.

  6. Toss and serve: Transfer the cooked wings to a large bowl and pour the lemon pepper butter sauce over them. Toss to coat evenly. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or sides.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, leave the wings uncovered in the fridge for a few hours to dry out before grilling.

  • You can also use a grill pan indoors if you don’t have an outdoor grill.

  • Want more heat? Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the seasoning.
