Ground Beef Lettuce Wraps are a quick, low-carb meal featuring seasoned ground beef served in crisp lettuce cups, topped with your favorite garnishes for a fresh and satisfying bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 head butter lettuce or romaine, leaves separated
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 6-8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2-3 minutes to combine flavors.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  6. Spoon beef mixture into lettuce leaves and top with shredded carrots, green onions, and sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Serve immediately as wraps or allow to cool for meal prep.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
  • For a spicier version, add a dash of sriracha or red pepper flakes.
  • Best served fresh, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated for later use.
