Rich, fudgy brownies decorated with fun Halloween-themed toppings like candy eyes, spiderweb icing, or colorful sprinkles — an easy and festive treat for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • Candy eyes, colored icing, or melted white chocolate for decorating

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8-inch square baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and chopped chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk in the granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Gently fold in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan. Lift out using the parchment overhang and cut into squares.
  7. Decorate with candy eyes, drizzle with melted white chocolate for spiderwebs, and sprinkle with Halloween sprinkles. Let set before serving.

Notes

  • For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake them.
  • Use store-bought brownie mix for a shortcut — just decorate as desired!
  • Store decorated brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
