These soft, chewy, and naturally sweetened chocolate chip cookies are made with nutritious ingredients but still taste indulgent. Perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without the guilt!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups (150g) almond flour (or oat flour for a nut-free version)
  • ¼ cup (60ml) coconut oil, melted (or unsalted butter)
  • â…“ cup (80ml) maple syrup (or honey)
  • 1 large egg (or flax egg for vegan: 1 tbsp ground flaxseed + 3 tbsp water)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (90g) dark chocolate chips (or chopped dark chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven

    • Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the wet ingredients

    • In a large bowl, whisk together melted coconut oil, maple syrup, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Add the dry ingredients

    • Stir in almond flour, baking soda, and salt until fully combined.
    • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Shape the cookies

    • Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
    • Place them on the baking sheet and flatten slightly with your fingers or a fork.
  5. Bake

    • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.
    • Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Swap almond flour for whole wheat flour (but reduce the amount slightly, as it absorbs more moisture).
  • Add chopped nuts, coconut flakes, or dried fruit for extra texture.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days at room temperature or freeze for up to 3 months.
