These Homemade Crunch Bars are rich, crispy, and made with just a handful of ingredients. Melted chocolate is mixed with crispy rice cereal for a sweet treat that’s perfect for snacking, gifting, or curing that chocolate craving—no baking required!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups semisweet or milk chocolate chips

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or unsalted butter (optional, for smoother texture)

  • 2 cups crispy rice cereal (like Rice Krispies)

  • 1/4 tsp salt (optional, enhances flavor)

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.

  2. Stir in cereal: Gently fold in the crispy rice cereal until evenly coated in chocolate.

  3. Spread and chill: Pour the mixture into a parchment-lined 8×8-inch pan and smooth into an even layer.

  4. Chill: Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or until firm.

  5. Slice and serve: Lift out of the pan and cut into squares or bars. Keep stored in the fridge for best texture.

Notes

  • Use dark chocolate for a richer flavor, or white chocolate for a twist.

  • Add a spoonful of peanut butter or a sprinkle of crushed nuts for variety.

  • These freeze well too—great for make-ahead treats!
