Homemade Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies are classic soft and chewy peanut butter cookies topped with a chocolate Hershey’s Kiss—perfectly sweet, salty, and festive for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • About 24 Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
  • Additional granulated sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla until fully combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls, then roll in granulated sugar.
  6. Place on prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until edges are set and bottoms are golden.
  7. Immediately press a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill the dough for 30 minutes if it’s too soft to roll easily.
  • Make sure to unwrap kisses before baking so they’re ready when cookies come out of the oven.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
