This Honey Glazed Salmon is a quick and easy dinner that combines perfectly seared salmon fillets with a sweet and savory honey glaze. With minimal ingredients and bold flavors, this dish is perfect for weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tbsp)
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or chives, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon:
    • Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Sear the Salmon:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Place the salmon fillets skin-side up in the skillet. Sear for 3–4 minutes, until the flesh is golden brown. Carefully flip and cook the other side for 2–3 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through (145°F internal temperature). Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Honey Glaze:
    • In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add honey, soy sauce, garlic, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir well and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, until the glaze thickens slightly.
  4. Glaze the Salmon:
    • Return the salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the glaze over the top. Cook for 1–2 minutes, basting with the glaze to coat evenly.
  5. Serve:
    • Transfer the salmon to serving plates. Drizzle with any remaining glaze from the skillet. Garnish with fresh parsley or chives and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a crispy skin, pat the salmon dry thoroughly and start searing skin-side down.
  • You can substitute maple syrup for honey for a different flavor profile.
  • Pair with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
