  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cumin (optional, for extra depth of flavor)
  • 3 tbsp cold water (adjust for creaminess)

For the Toppings:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (drizzle on top)
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika or sumac (for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp crumbled feta cheese (optional, for extra richness)
  • 2 tbsp pine nuts or chopped almonds (toasted, for crunch)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro (chopped, for a pop of color)

For the Platter:

  • Pita bread or naan (cut into triangles, lightly toasted)
  • Carrot sticks
  • Cucumber slices
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Red bell pepper strips
  • Radishes (sliced thinly)
  • Kalamata olives (or green olives)
  • Feta cheese cubes (optional, for Mediterranean flavor)

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Hummus

  1. In a food processor, blend chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and cumin until smooth.
  2. Add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches a creamy consistency.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Garnish with paprika, feta, pine nuts, and fresh parsley.

Step 2: Assemble the Platter

  1. Place the hummus bowl in the center of a large serving platter.
  2. Arrange pita bread, vegetables, olives, and feta cubes around it.
  3. Add small bowls of extra olive oil or hummus variations (like roasted red pepper or spicy harissa hummus).

Step 3: Serve & Enjoy!

  • Serve immediately, or cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before serving.
  • Pair with a refreshing mint lemonade or a glass of crisp white wine!

Notes

  • Customize It: Add roasted garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, or avocado to the hummus for a unique twist.
  • Gluten-Free Option: Serve with gluten-free crackers or veggie chips instead of pita bread.
  • Spicy Version: Drizzle with chili oil or harissa for a kick!
