Instant Pot Rice is a quick and foolproof method for making fluffy, perfectly cooked rice every time. Great for meal prep or as a base for your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup white rice (e.g., long grain, jasmine, or basmati)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp salt (optional)
  • 1 tsp oil or butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain well.
  2. Add the rinsed rice, water, salt, and oil or butter (if using) to the Instant Pot.
  3. Close the lid and set the valve to the sealing position.
  4. Cook on Manual or Pressure Cook mode for 4 minutes on high pressure.
  5. Allow a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then carefully release any remaining pressure.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.

Notes

  • Use a 1:1 water-to-rice ratio for white rice. Adjust for other rice types (e.g., brown rice: 1 cup rice to 1.25 cups water, 22 minutes cook time).
  • Double or triple the recipe using the same ratio and cook time.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for later use.
