Ingredients
Scale
1 box white cake mix (15.25 oz)
3 large eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
Red and blue food coloring
1 tub (16 oz) vanilla frosting
Red, white, and blue sprinkles
Optional: star-shaped candies or cupcake toppers
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
Prepare the cake mix according to package instructions, combining the mix with eggs, oil, and water until smooth.
Divide the batter into three bowls. Tint one red, one blue, and leave the third white.
Spoon small amounts of each colored batter into the cupcake liners, layering to create a swirl or firework effect.
Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
Frost with vanilla frosting using a piping bag or spatula.
Decorate with red, white, and blue sprinkles and optional toppers or candy stars.
Serve and enjoy the colorful celebration!
Notes
Use gel food coloring for bold, vibrant colors without thinning the batter.
Let cupcakes cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
Can be made a day ahead and stored in an airtight container.
