Ingredients
Scale
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp lemon zest
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Fresh parsley or lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Place the chicken in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to 8 hours).
Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Oil the grates lightly to prevent sticking.
Remove chicken from the marinade and grill for 5–6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Brush with additional barbecue sauce during the last 2 minutes of grilling if desired.
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or lemon slices if desired.
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness without overcooking.
Marinate longer for deeper flavor.
Great served with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
