Lemon BBQ Chicken is a flavorful and juicy grilled dish featuring tender chicken marinated in a zesty lemon and barbecue sauce blend—perfect for summer cookouts and weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Fresh parsley or lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together barbecue sauce, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the chicken in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over it. Seal or cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to 8 hours).
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Oil the grates lightly to prevent sticking.
  4. Remove chicken from the marinade and grill for 5–6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. Brush with additional barbecue sauce during the last 2 minutes of grilling if desired.
  6. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley or lemon slices if desired.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper doneness without overcooking.
  • Marinate longer for deeper flavor.
  • Great served with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad.
