Marinated Spicy Chicken Wings are bold, flavorful, and perfect for game day or grilling season. These wings are soaked in a zesty marinade packed with heat and then baked or grilled to crispy perfection.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken wings, separated at joints and tips removed
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot or Sriracha)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Chopped green onions or cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, hot sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Add chicken wings to the marinade and toss to coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the marinated wings on the rack in a single layer.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy. If grilling, cook wings 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions or cilantro if desired and serve hot.

Notes

  • Marinate overnight for deeper flavor.
  • For extra crispiness, broil the wings for 2-3 minutes at the end of baking.
  • Serve with a side of ranch or blue cheese dressing to balance the heat.
