Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt into a mason jar.
  2. Seal the jar tightly and shake vigorously for 4–5 minutes, until the mixture thickens and roughly doubles in volume.
  3. Place the jar in the freezer for at least 3 hours or until firm.
  4. Once frozen, let sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping and serving.

Notes

  • Add mix-ins like chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or fruit after shaking, before freezing.
  • Use pint-sized mason jars for ideal portions and space.
  • For chocolate ice cream, mix in 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder before shaking.
