This creamy and flavorful dip combines layers of cheesy goodness, a tangy kick, and optional toppings. Great for gatherings, game days, or whenever you want a quick, delicious snack.

Base Ingredients:

  • 1 package (225 g/8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Toppings (optional):

  • 1 cup (200 g) shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) salsa or pico de gallo
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) sliced green onions
  • 1/4 cup (25 g) sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) diced tomatoes or bell peppers
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced (for heat)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base:
    • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese and sour cream until smooth and creamy.
    • Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
  2. Layer the Base:
    • Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on the bottom of a serving dish or pie plate.
  3. Add Toppings:
    • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the cream cheese base.
    • Spoon salsa or pico de gallo evenly on top.
    • Add other toppings such as green onions, black olives, diced tomatoes, bell peppers, or jalapeño slices.
  4. Chill (Optional):
    • Refrigerate the dip for 20-30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve chilled or at room temperature with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie sticks.


Notes

  • You can customize this dip by adding cooked bacon bits, guacamole, or refried beans as additional layers.
  • For a warm version, bake the dip at 180°C (350°F) for 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
