  • 1 cup (250 ml) cranberry juice
  • 1 cup (250 ml) orange juice
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) pomegranate juice (optional, for extra flavor and color)
  • 1 orange, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 apple, sliced or diced
  • 1 cup (150 g) fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup (125 g) pomegranate seeds
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 34 star anise pods (optional)
  • 1 cup (250 ml) club soda or sparkling water (added just before serving)

Instructions

  • Combine the juices:
    • In a large pitcher, combine the sparkling apple cider, cranberry juice, orange juice, and pomegranate juice (if using). Stir well.
  • Add the fruits and spices:
    • Add the orange slices, apple slices, fresh cranberries, pomegranate seeds, cinnamon stick, and star anise to the pitcher.
  • Chill:
    • Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld. For best results, let it chill for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  • Add bubbles:
    • Just before serving, stir in the club soda or sparkling water for an extra fizz.
  • Serve:
    • Serve the sangria in glasses over ice, making sure to include some of the fruit in each serving for a festive touch.

Notes

  • Customizable fruits: Feel free to add grapes, raspberries, or pears for variety.
  • Herbal twist: Add a sprig of rosemary to each glass for a fragrant garnish.
  • Make it extra festive: Rim the glasses with sugar or edible glitter for a sparkling holiday presentation.
