For the Topping (Optional):

  • ¼ cup rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

1. Preheat & Prepare the Dish:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, combine oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt.

3. Mix Wet Ingredients:

  • In another bowl, whisk together milk, maple syrup, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.

4. Assemble the Bake:

  • Stir the wet ingredients into the dry mixture.
  • Fold in the diced apples and nuts.
  • Pour into the prepared baking dish.

5. Add Topping (Optional):

  • Mix oats, brown sugar, and melted butter, then sprinkle over the oatmeal bake.

6. Bake Until Golden:

  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
