A hearty and comforting one-pot rigatoni bolognese featuring a rich, meaty tomato sauce cooked together with pasta for a simple and delicious meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 12 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or deep skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Add diced onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until the onion softens, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Pour in the beef broth and marinara sauce, stirring to combine.
  4. Bring to a simmer, then add the rigatoni pasta.
  5. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened, about 15-18 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until fully incorporated.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil before serving, if desired.

Notes

  • Use a wooden spoon to stir gently to avoid breaking the pasta.
  • Add crushed red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a lighter version.
