Orange Dreamsicle Salad is a light and fluffy dessert salad bursting with creamy orange flavor. With a mix of whipped topping, mandarin oranges, and a hint of vanilla, it’s reminiscent of the classic dreamsicle ice cream. Perfect for potlucks, summer picnics, or holiday gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (3 oz) orange-flavored gelatin (Jell-O)
  • 1 box (3 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 1 can (15 oz) mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut (optional)

Instructions

1. Dissolve the Gelatin

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the orange gelatin powder with the boiling water. Stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
  2. Add the cold water and mix well. Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes, just until the mixture begins to thicken but is not fully set.

2. Mix in the Pudding

  1. Once the gelatin has slightly thickened, whisk in the instant vanilla pudding mix. Beat until smooth and the mixture starts to thicken further.

3. Fold in the Whipped Topping

  1. Gently fold in the whipped topping until no streaks remain, creating a light and creamy base.

4. Add the Extras

  1. Fold in the mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, and shredded coconut (if using). Be careful not to break up the oranges too much.

5. Chill and Serve

  1. Cover the bowl and refrigerate the salad for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the mixture to fully set.
  2. Serve cold, garnished with extra mandarin oranges or a sprinkle of coconut for a festive touch.
