6 waffle cones
1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
1 cup fresh blueberries
1 cup mini marshmallows or banana slices
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt or whipped topping (optional)
Red, white, and blue sprinkles for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare fruit by washing and chopping strawberries, and rinsing blueberries.
If using bananas, slice them just before assembling to avoid browning.
Fill each waffle cone with layers of strawberries, marshmallows or banana slices, and blueberries.
Top with a spoonful of vanilla yogurt or whipped topping if desired.
Sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles for a festive touch.
Serve immediately or chill for up to 1 hour before serving.
Notes
Great for kids and can be made in advance.
Use any combination of red, white, and blue fruits like raspberries or blackberries.
To prevent soggy cones, line them with a small piece of wax paper or dip the inside in melted chocolate.
