This quick and easy Peanut Satay Sauce is smooth, savory, and just a little bit sweet with a hint of spice. Made with creamy peanut butter, soy sauce, garlic, and lime, it’s perfect for dipping grilled meats, drizzling over noodles or rice bowls, or serving with veggies and spring rolls. It’s a go-to sauce that brings big flavor to any dish!
½ cup creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon lime juice (freshly squeezed)
1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
1 clove garlic, minced
½ teaspoon grated fresh ginger (or ¼ tsp ground ginger)
1 teaspoon sesame oil
½ teaspoon chili flakes or sriracha (optional, to taste)
⅓ to ½ cup warm water (to thin to desired consistency)
In a medium bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and chili flakes or sriracha if using.
Slowly add warm water, a little at a time, whisking until smooth and the sauce reaches your preferred thickness.
Taste and adjust seasoning — add more lime juice for tang, sugar for sweetness, or chili for heat.
Serve warm or at room temperature as a dip, drizzle, or sauce.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Sauce will thicken as it chills — just stir in a splash of warm water to loosen it.
Try it over grilled chicken skewers, rice bowls, or noodle salads!
