These Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies are everything a cookie should be: golden, chewy, buttery, and packed with gooey chocolate chips. No chilling required, and they come together fast with simple pantry ingredients. Ideal for bake sales, after-school snacks, or anytime you need a classic sweet treat!
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
¾ cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or mix of milk and dark)
Cream butter and sugars in a large bowl until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
Add eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined.
Whisk together dry ingredients in a separate bowl: flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
Scoop dough by heaping tablespoons or use a cookie scoop. Place 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers look just slightly underbaked (they’ll firm up as they cool).
Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely… or eat one warm and melty!
For extra chewy cookies, use all brown sugar instead of a mix.
Add a sprinkle of flaky sea salt on top before baking for a gourmet touch.
Chill dough for 30 minutes to reduce spread (optional, but recommended for thicker cookies).
Store in an airtight container at room temp for up to 5 days or freeze for later.
